{"id":844,"date":"2026-04-07T08:02:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T08:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesssinglesmeet.com\/?p=844"},"modified":"2026-04-10T13:02:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T13:02:54","slug":"14-tonnes-of-waste-cleared-from-a12-in-overnight-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/businesssinglesmeet.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/07\/14-tonnes-of-waste-cleared-from-a12-in-overnight-operation\/","title":{"rendered":"14 tonnes of waste cleared from A12 in overnight operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-beyondwords-marker=\"32c42dda-03a6-43a9-bd10-72747d2ccd05\" data-beyondwords-player=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<h4><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-612193 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"Fly-tipping\" width=\"860\" height=\"516\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/A12-clean-up-March.jpg?resize=860%2C516&amp;ssl=1\"><\/h4>\n<h4>Colchester City Council has removed almost 14 tonnes of waste that was dumped on the A12 in a four-night operation.<\/h4>\n<p>Seven council officers from the Street Care and Safety team removed 3.7 tonnes of waste from the roadside, including 19 tyres and 13 abandoned road signs.<\/p>\n<p>A mechanical road sweeper supported the operation and cleared around 10 tonnes of material from the carriageway.<\/p>\n<p>The work covered the Ipswich-bound carriageway from junction 26 to junction 29 and the London-bound carriageway from junction 29 back to junction 26.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the clean-up, Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure, said: \u201cI know people expect the roads they use every day to be safe, clean and well looked after, and this work goes a long way towards making that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt might not always be visible while it\u2019s taking place, but clearing litter and dumped items from major routes like the A12 really does make a difference for residents and everyone travelling through the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank our street care teams who carried out this hard work overnight to keep disruption to a minimum.
