{"id":1202,"date":"2026-06-24T09:13:36","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T09:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesssinglesmeet.com\/?p=1202"},"modified":"2026-06-30T15:53:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T15:53:15","slug":"uk-and-netherlands-to-collaborate-on-circular-economy-financing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/businesssinglesmeet.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/24\/uk-and-netherlands-to-collaborate-on-circular-economy-financing\/","title":{"rendered":"UK and Netherlands to collaborate on circular economy financing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-beyondwords-player=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<h4><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-613166 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"Circular economy\" width=\"860\" height=\"516\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.circularonline.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/iStock-1126962529.jpg?resize=860%2C516&amp;ssl=1\"><\/h4>\n<h4>The UK and Dutch governments have signed an agreement to collaborate on circular economy financing.<\/h4>\n<p>As part of the agreement, both governments committed to working together to promote a shared understanding of a circular economy finance reference framework.<\/p>\n<p>Intended for voluntary use, the joint statement said the framework would support circular economy financing by establishing common definitions, measurement methods, and indicators for lending, financing, and investing in circular activities in practice.<\/p>\n<p>The joint declaration was signed in London by Circular Economy Minister Mary Creagh and Stientje\u202fVan Veldhoven, the Minister\u00a0of\u00a0Climate and Green Growth, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate,\u00a0in the Dutch Government.<\/p>\n<p>Both governments also said they would collaborate internationally to advance knowledge and practice in circular economy finance and to enhance their understanding of how current circular economy activities are financed.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0March 2025, the\u00a0UK and the\u00a0Dutch governments\u00a0held\u00a0a\u00a0roundtable hosted by the Lord Mayor of London at Mansion House to set out a path towards closer cooperation on circular economy finance, bringing together government officials and private sector lenders.<\/p>\n<p>One of the key outcomes of the roundtable was the creation of the Circular Economy Finance Group.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the joint statement, both governments said they recognise that transitioning to a circular economy will help \u2018deliver sustainable economic growth\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It continued that the circular economy would \u2018advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals and environmental\u00a0objectives, reduce financial risks, strengthen economic\u00a0resilience\u00a0and support long-term prosperity\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement reads: \u201cIt is clear that there is not yet enough finance for and investment in circular business to enable both governments to realise their circular ambitions.
